Reading the entire counsel of God gives us the big picture. Not just the snip snaps here and there. Now snip snaps of the Word are great, don't get me wrong, but to know, to read, to understand, to be able to "see" the Bible as it unfolds before your very eyes. What an experience to be able to read and see in the beginning what happened as God formed us.
Absolutely, I am no Bible scholar and that's what makes this soooo exciting. No Greek or Hebrew studies (not criticizing studies) here for this girl, just a simple plain minded girl in love with the Word and her Jesus. To think that the Almighty Creator of the universe would reveal His word and His works to any of us, all of us, is most overwhelming. So amazing and just plain wonderful. Do what you can, read what you are able, drink in whatever of the Word you are able, spend some time just loving the Lord. Pam Davis with her husband and the youngest four of their seven children.

Nehemiah 6:3-4
The bad guys sent this message to Nehemiah four times and he gave them the same answer. The answer was basically get lost, forget it, I ain't got time, tooo busy, leave me alone, etc. Nehemiah's answer is still the same: "I am doing a great work, so that I can not come down. Why should the work cease while I leave it and go down to you?" Our take away: no matter what the temptation or how many times or in what "dressing" it comes...our answer, just like Nehemiah, is can't come down right now, busy doing a great work. Of course all manners are to be used. Politely say NO. Remember ladies this is a season. Just like it didn't take Nehemiah all his life to rebuild the wall it wont take you "always" in this "season" of your life. But it is a great work and we must finish "well." March 2015"By humility and the fear of the Lord are riches and honor and life." (Proverbs 22:4 NKJV)
In this life so many things are uncertain, out of our control, beyond our control, but the things within our control so often we don't control. For example, humility and fear (reverence, respect) of the Lord are two things which carry big rewards and we so often don't exercise them. To have humility and fear of the Lord you don't have to wait on anyone, buy anything, wait until you are a certain age or stage in life, wait until you have arrived or are good enough, there is nothing to legitimately keep you from these two. Embrace these two. And there is something in it for you...haha usually with all the jobs we do, there doesn't ever seem to be anything immediate in it for us. Here it tells us there are riches, honor and life. Well, I believe it do you? "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths." (Proverbs 3:5-6 NKJV)
At the end of all our struggles, fightings, frettings, worryings, strivings, is our God. He is waiting patiently for us to come "home" with our issues, and lay them all at His feet. Be what you were created to be. Glory in Him. Rest in Him. Depend on Him. Circumstances avail us all. Most of the time it's the same old ones. Some are seemingly more difficult and seemingly insurmountable, however whatever your issue, it is just that, your issue. It is what you are dealing with and it can consume you if you let it. Step back and look at everything, put it in perspective and walk out into the light, and memorize this: "Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths." (Proverbs 3:5-6 NKJV) February 21, 2015"Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer." Psalms 19:14 NKJV)
This scripture was jumping at me this morning. Oh dear...let the words of my mouth (and it doesn't stop there) and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in the Lord's sight. Sometimes the words of my mouth (much less the meditations of my heart) are not acceptable to anyone. This is sooo true with most of our endeavors. We fall sooo short, and that's why we need our Lord, who is our Strength and our Redeemer. Remember in all things, lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths! |

I heard this the other day, a humble person is hard to offend.
It is our pride that rises up inside of us if we feel someone is "getting the best of us," taking advantage of us, or "getting ahead of us." Step back, breathe deeply and ask the questions "who even cares," "does this matter," "how will this affect eternity?"
When we walk hearing as the Lord hears, seeing as the Lord sees, and walking in the Spirit we are humble beings.
If you think about it all your arguments...are they really important? Is it necessary to get the last word? Be still my tongue, might should be our prayer.
