Elizabeth Davis Houlihan, 1999 - 2016

My daughter, Elizabeth Davis Houlihan, died on March 29, 2016 of sudden cardiac arrest at age 16. Elizabeth was flown by helicopter to Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital in Atlanta but could not be revived.

Born November 30, 1999 in Sherwood, Arkansas, Elizabeth was a long time member of the Fayette Fiddlers violin group, which performs concerts and performs for nursing home residents. She was a member of Fortissimo Orchestra. Elizabeth was a regular volunteer at Fayette County Public Library. She was an active member of the youth group at Fayette Bible Church, her family’s church home. Elizabeth loved to swim and bake. She was a certified Safe Sitter and loved to babysit young children. She attended Vikki Weigel’s monthly art club and summer art camps.

When our family was traveling in an airport once, a man told us that Elizabeth had inspired him because he had seen her sitting and reading her Bible. He said what inspired him the most was how tattered it was.

Elizabeth's sermon notes from August 11, 2012:
"These are notes on Pastor Wayne's sermon. The rapture of Christ and the second coming are not the same thing. Luke 17:20-37 main verses. This is a few days before Jesus is nailed to the cross. John 3:14-15 is based on Numbers 21:4-9. Revelation 19:11-21. This is the second coming seven years after the rapture. I Corinthians 15:51-53."

Elizabeth's sermon notes from September 23, 2012:

"Religion is not the same as salvation. Luke 19:29-40, Zechariah 9:9, Matthew 21:8-11. What is the spiritual condition of these people? They're rejoicing and excited, but that doesn't mean they're all saved. You can be very religious, but not have a close relationship with God, or salvation. John 12:16-19."

Thank you Fayette Bible Church for the honor of speaking to the ladies at mother/daughter night on June 11, 2016. In my 15-minute message, I spoke about what the Bible says of grief and sorrow.
