Let's revel in Revelation for a while, shall we? Yes, let's.
Now the root of that word Revelation is going to be "reveal," as in what God is trying to reveal to us that is going to happen in the future. That's what this book is all about.
Revelation 1
“Behold, he cometh with the clouds, and every eye shall see him…” Revelation 1:7
Revelation 2
Jesus is talking here: “I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil, and thou has tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars.” Revelation 2:2 Theology without intimacy with God doesn’t please Him.
“Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou has left thy first love. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen…” Revelation 2:4-5
Revelation 3
“I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.” Revelation 3:15.
Are you checking to make sure I didn’t make that up? These are the sorts of scriptures that never make it onto Christian stationery and calendars. Yes Jesus just said He would spue us out of his mouth if we keep being lukewarm in our faith.
“As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten; be zealous therefore, and repent. Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” Revelation 3:19-20.
Was sup? He’s finna sup with us. Righteous.
Revelation 7
“Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them. They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more, neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.” Revelation 7:15-17
Revelation 11
“And when they shall have finished their testimony…” Revelation 11:7 God is still building my testimony. It’s a lifelong thing.
Revelation 12
Now we are speaking of “that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world…for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.” Revelation 12:9-10. Satan can’t change our salvation, so he tries to make us insecure through unbelief.
“…for the devil is come down unto you having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.”Revelation 12:12 His time is short and he is furious about this. It’s like a toddler when they know it’s almost time to leave the toy store and they start pitching a fit. Their fun is almost over and it didn’t quite go their way. That’s our loser man Satan. Bless his heart.
Revelation 19
“Behold a white horse, and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.” Revelation 19:11
“And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood; and his name is called The Word of God.” Revelation 19:13
“…a name written KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.” Revelation 19:16.
I didn’t add the all caps. This is what is going to be written on Jesus when He returns.
Revelation 21
“Behold, I make all things new.” Revelation 21:5
Revelation 22
“I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.” Revelation 22:13
In Revelation 22:20, Jesus is speaking: “Surely I come quickly.”
