1 Peter 2
“Endure grief, suffering wrongfully. For what glory is it, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? But if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, the is acceptable with God. For even hereunto were ye called.” 1 Peter 2:19-21
1 Peter 3
“Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives, while they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear.” 1 Peter 3:1-2.
I gotta be honest here. One thing I am really hoping God will do with this blog is inspire the guys through the ladies.
“…the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit…” 1 Peter 3:4
“Even as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord…” 1 Peter 3:6
That’s what I’m talking about.
“For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers, but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.” 1 Peter 3:12. Peter is quoting some Psalms here, really good ones I might add, and I didn’t spend six years learning Hebrew to tell you that, I don’t know Hebrew, it’s all Greek to me, and you know I had to stick that joke in this book at least one time. I’m just saying I’m no theologian (really?) and anyone can figure stuff like that out by staring at the footnotes in your Bible.
“Be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear.” 1 Peter 3:15
1 Peter 4
“Use hospitality one to another without grudging.” 1 Peter 4:9
1 Peter 5
“Casting all your care on Him, for He careth for you.” 1 Peter 5:8. I like that. Cheer up. He careth.
“Be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.”1 Peter 5:8
“But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.” 1 Peter 5:10
2 Peter 3
“The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness: but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9
